Bio

Jules is a Detroit painter working in oil, graphite and reclaimed wood. His practice studies the body as architecture — load-bearing, weathered, lived in.

Trained at College for Creative Studies, Jules built his first studio in a former auto-parts depot off Mt. Elliott. The light, he says, was the reason. The rent was the proof.

His newest series — Load Bearing — pairs life-size graphite figures with hand-stretched oil panels, exhibited at gallery shows in Detroit, Chicago, and Brooklyn through 2026.
